Caress (vampire Book Cover) Illustrator, Painter, Photoshop June 2005
hi,
just completed this new piece which should be used for the first in a series of vampire 'erotic' novels. The concept was for the main character to have a feeling of remorse but also a bit of defiance over the 'draining' of her victim / lover.. not quite sure if i managed to pull it off? lol
Hopefully the eye should be the focal point for the front cover with the little moth (little bit of deathly symbolism there) being the focal on the back.
some refs used, especially for the sheets, but quite happy with how they came out.
the background 'wallpaper' pattern was created in illustrator as a tile and placed in using photoshops new smart object paste command (which is great- keeps the vector data live, allowing for repeated scalling without rasterisation.) painterIX for pretty much everything then some lighting and color adjustments in ps.
